MY 911 PURCHASE AND RESTO - THANKS TO DDK

About two years ago, after a long and fruitless search elsewhere for a good original RHD 911 E with history, I placed a 'Wanted' ad on the DDK for such a car. What sounded like an ideal car was duly offered to me, and a deal was done.
Shortly afterwards, restoration work began, which, thanks to a PPI by Lee from Autoclassica (recommended again via DDK), was relatively uncomplicated and painless. Lee worked tirelessly to produce a stunning final result - the only unforseen expense was a new bonnet, which was duly procured via yet another DDK recommendation, Nick Moss.
The car was now resplendent in gleaming Ivory White, but a gearbox rebuild, headlining, and new carpet set (plus full service) were all that were required to have the car complete and utterly immaculate - needless to say, DDK came good yet again, and the car was despatched to the care of Alan at Canford Classics (Alan UK). His work and attention to detail was outstanding.
The final icing on a very happy cake was also the final DDK recommendation - a trip to Bob Watson, an experience I would recommend to anyone eager to squeeze the very best out of their Porsche. After three hours of tweaking, Bob squeezed an amazing 174 bhp out of the 2.2, and a few days later I was able to marvel at the improvement as I stretched it's legs down to Le Mans and back - the car performed faultlessly.
Thank you to DDK for providing an extraordinary resource for Porsche owners - this project would not have been possible without it.
As for me and my 911, there will be many more happy and exciting miles this Summer, and then I may embark on a new 911 project with more of an R Gruppe flavour using, of course, all my new DDK contacts.....
