With apologies to those who are looking for a 356, I am afraid to say I have bought another car.
It is a 1959 UK RHD (what else!) 356A coupe in silver with it's original red interior still intact. Original 1600 super engine with 31,392 miles on the clock (this has been verified on the MOTs)! It has also only had 2 owners who are from the same family.
What's worse is that I've known this car existed for a lot of years without knowing anything about it. Also it's within walking distance of where I work!
There's a fair bit of paperwork including bill of sale, service book etc The toolkit is almost complete and it's still wearing it's original Michelin Xs!
Admittedly the body needs a bit of attention but I'm going to do the bare minimum and try and preserve the rest as the car has never been welded.

He's owned it since 1975. His great uncle hardly drove it and it had only done 4000 miles when he got it!

OMG - well it had to be an A I suppose with the gap in the 'fleet', but looking at that is really making me want to get back in the garage and get another RHD silver with red A back on the road in Yorkshire
Given your description of it Hendrik, I may be pestering you for photos of different bits of the new addition, it certainly sounds a great reference car

It had nothing to do with removals, just happened to be a friend of a friend. I'm just lucky I guess. The last thing I wanted was to buy another car. I was hoping it was going to be a B, something I wouldn't be interested in (no offence intended to all you other B owners). I could have wept when I saw it.

Is that the car that was on the carandclassic.co.uk website advertised as a 1955a but with no description, pictures or price cause that was from west yorkshire and when I spoke to the bloke he knew very little about it but said it was rhd. I never did get any direct contact details from him and the only way to contact him was through the site. he never responded and after a while the advert was taken away.

In all seriousness, the car is what the Americans call a “Blue Chip Car”
It ticks all the boxes….
It’s a 59 ‘A’…..
It’s Silver…..
It’s got a red interior…
And It’s Right-hand drive…….Perfect spec for a UK car…
The fact that it has a good history and low miles are more strings to it’s bow…
You can never pay too much for this car like this….you will only but it too soon.
