Hi all - another question please

Can I re torque the heads on my 1600 S with the motor in the car???

If so how much tinwear do I have to remove?

Looks a pig of a job

Engine builder has said to re torque heads after the initial 20 -30 min run up.

Just had a look and am trying to get the enthusiasam!

Someone please tell me its either easy.......or not neccessary

Cheers

Ive never re-torqued 356 heads after running them,if you do you will have to remove all the rocker gear, carbs, manifolds, side fan tinware!!

Never re-torqued either... new one on me. Are they spanky new heads, shims etc? Can see a maybe/possible need for out of the box parts but seems a bit enthusiastic if they've already been torqued correctly...

not some thing I have heard of. I think the text books might say a thing or two but nothing I have read to do with Porsches. or flat 4 's anyway...

you would have to take a heck of alot off to do this and get the engine out again.. don't think even the factory did this..
