First Oil Change & Trans Change Query

Well, I have taken the week off work to combine jobs (decorating etc.) with pleasure (911 of course).
However, the Midlands has been deluged so far this week, but a dry patch of a couple of hours opened up and so I dived in there to change the oil.
I had been over to Tuthills for a couple of things, so picked up 10L of Millers 10W/60 and a filter plus two (brass ?) sealing washers for the drain plugs.
Millers is £7 a litre, whereas Castrol Edge Sport was more like £9 litre.
I found my lift came in handy, as although you could grovel around on the floor, why do so when the car can be raised a foot or so to allow easy access
The most difficult thing was finding a catch can big enough to drain the oil in to - Halfords to the rescue, where they sell large (5 gallon maybe) plastic waste containers with a top and side mounted screw cap - chap in Halfords thought they might be for caravans, but it worked great under the car.
It is unavoidable that some oil will get on the catch can, floor, hands etc. so I ensured I had a supply of paper towels handy.
I filled up with 9 Quart or 10.25 litres of oil, and the guage reads half full when the car is hot and on idle - the dip stick is about 1/3 between empty and full - IS THIS CORRECT ?
At 2K rpm I am on 60lbs, 3K rpm is 70lbs and 4K rpm is 75-80lbs - very rough as the guage is marked 60 then 100 - IS THIS ABOUT RIGHT ?
Had great fun trying to get the car up to temperature to read the levels - the rain had left great floods all across the roads around here, so I had to go on a long run
Tomorrow is transmission oil day - Swepco 201 at the ready.
Do the 915 transmission fill and drain plugs have washers as the engine / oil tank do ?
