Engine splutters on left hand bends only

Hi can anybody help? I am running 40-p-11 carbs on a super engine and have this small but annoying problem. When I go round left hand turns the engine misses a beat every time.
Many thanks Nige

float levels or some dodgy connection in the ignition somewhere that doesn't like left hand bends

first thing i would say is check the float levels but I am sure it might need alittle more looking at.. eg poss some thing else...
tell us more..

Sounds like floats but may also be loose balance pipe... made mine run like a pig!

A float would give these signs for sure, but on the whole the bowl is fairly big so unless it's set very low and using up all the fuel that's left just on one bend..hmm
is it on a long bend or just every bend?
anyway check the floats very easy...
also check to see if the float is not sinking eg has a hole in it. this is a wild card but not uncommon it makes the float sink.. but then you would be over fueling..
anyway check the levels..let us know. Not saying we know all the answers but just some of the things to check before you end up shelling out ££

Could be that the float height is too high in one carb and is flooding when the car is leaning over.
Dont try and set the float heights using the inspection hole in the carbs - it is near impossible to get right with the motor shaking around.
You can rig up an electric fuel pump to the carb and do it without the motor running which is how i set mine up before i got the right tool.
You need to get the correct tool to do it properly.
