hi all just bought. put a deposit on my first 912.

looking foward to collecting and driving her.
its not my first porsche. i had a 924 which i ratted up (rust and all) im know the the vdub circles for building ratty pantina/rod cars.
and

before you all say. no im not going to tarnish the 912

. its a keeper and going to be kept mint as possble. only change will be some chrome mirrors. and... as a backup im going to do a type1 engine. as i know dave had to rebuild the engine. plus he says theres trouble with the starter turning over and no idle on the carbs (cuts out). so im thinking of chucking in my type1 1776 into the 912. so i can use it. and taking a proper look at the 1720 engine anb maybe a stripdown. i know it has been done before and if anyone has any info it would be great if you could share it with me. i will post up what i know.
other than that hello

.
matt

Welcome we are starting to get a more active 912 section with alot of new owners. This is great news, you only get out what you put in. So feel free to ask questions and we can all help make your 912 ownership a more happier expericence..
