Two days building the engine last week and then three hours getting the engine in, everything hooked up and troubleshooting a couple of tiny issues (all self-generated!) and I've just taken the 912 for it's first trip out since the end of November last year.
AND IT'S WONDERFUL!
Fingers crossed for the drive home tonight...

First 55 miles completed this evening. Difficult to be patient with the running in limitations, but I know it will be worth it in the end and so am deliberately following them to the letter. It's great to be commuting in the car again though - and I've also got to use the heating for the first time since it was fitted! Distinctly cold evening and I was in a t-shirt and still too hot by the time I was well into the journey.
Another 55 miles in the morning and then straight into the first oil change and checking the valve clearances...

Good weather? No! I want cold, freezing weather so that I can finally get my money's worth out of the heating I had sorted before the engine went pop!

Best use the M4 from now on then...
I prefer more greasy attire for Porsche duties (note unbridled joy at finally having a running engine in the back of my car!).
