356c goes in for service and MOT next week. Fingers crossed.

It starts first time, but is getting in desperate need of some cosmetic TLC. This is the first time I've taken it to a specialist for a service etc.

Rustbucket... if it makes it through I'll bring it with me to Bristol, perhaps you'll give me a price on some bodywork?

I need welding, boo hoo.

I cannot imagine the stress of TUV or MOT. Here in States we can drive cars until the wheels fall, no inspection needed. Thus, be careful if you buy from across the pond.

Woo-hoo! Got through MOT yesterday first time..after spending 3 weeks on my back replacing a longitudinal, though

Still, first MOT since I bought the car - always a relief to find no major issues.

Got a great local garage who let me get involved and make sure they jack it up right and dont kink the hood (just caught him in time as he was about to tug it shut).

Failed on about £850 worth of welding which has now been done by an expert, so I assume it's going to pass this time. This will give me another summer to decide whether I'm going to keep it or not.

I've been told it could really do with a partial restoration to put a stop to some of the rot, which didn't come as a surprise.

I've also been told that it's still worth what I paid for it even with the work needed and I'd get my money back on the cost of the partial restoration as it would increase the value of the car by pretty much the same amount.

that was my original plan.

The cost of the partial restoration is doable and to be honest part of me would really look forward to having the car in that kind of condition. But it would be tight, I'm waiting for the usual end of year chat with my boss.

MOT passed, phew.

That's great. Now you can enjoy driving around in this glorious weather we are having.

Just a little addition to this thread. My car is now for sale. I just don't get the opportunity to enjoy it enough.
