Possible mods for 356A - advice/ tips please!

Hoping to start a small program of mods to my 356A in next couple of months. The car (currently) is a totally standard 356A with good solid bodywork and on a few trips last year proved it is perfectly happy at 65 - 75mph on the motorways, no overheating while waiting in traffic for over an hour to get in to the annual Porsche Club GB event etc., so basically a good 'un!

BUT...over the next couple of years I want to start using it for some European trips, Classic Le Mans etc. and I'm also considering using it in some 'novice' classic rally events. So my plan is to try and enhance it and make it better suited to long European juorneys (would be good to be able to buzz long at 90mph without worrying!), beef the brakes up a little bit, better suspension, more comfort inside the car etc etc, and I want to do it all totally in keeping with what would have been possible/ acceptable at the time. Has anyone got any ideas or experience on what kind of modifications I should be looking at please? And the pro's/ con's of various options?

Last year I spoke with a couple of well known Porsche 356 specialists to get ideas, so will obviously go back to them as well, but am very keen to hear on anything that actual owners have tried/ used.

Thanks in advance for any help!

:)

Simon,

We know the car, of course, but it would be a good idea to bring it down and put it on the lift

We can then walk round it and discuss all the options while you take the notes

Give Paul a ring, he will work in with you as to when it is conveniant

Hi Mike - I will 100% be coming to see Paul about it, and thanks for the offer to have a proper go over the car and see what may be needed.

I'm hoping to start something in next couple of months, so will def be calling nearer the time.

Thanks again
