DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

I have been trying to find out some history about my cab and thought someone out there might be able to point me in the right direction.

When I bought the car I was told that it had been raced and had a big accident at Oulton Park. I reckon that this will have been in 1955 or 56 as a late 1500S engine came with the car and I assume (bad idea I know, as the maestro used to say assume makes an ass out of u and me) this was used to do the racing with.

I have been collecting original programs for the circuit over the past year and wondered if anyone would be able to tell me how I find out how many races took place there in both these years as well as the dates of races.

I also have one 1955 program showing 3 Porsches in one particular race. Will there be any way of finding out what they were? With this one I think I will have to look at reports from the magazines at the time, but is there anything else I should look at?

gosh I would say your heading in the right direction personaly. Is there like a club or assosiation linked to the racing at the time?

The Lancashire and Cheshire Motor Club did a lot of events there.
Will have to see if they still exist.

I would try the Atlas F1/nostalgia forum , very knowledgable on this sort of stuff on there, lots of ex marshalls etc who worked at Oulton Park in the past who seemed to record all the entrants and results from all periods. ........Russ.
