Any experience of the 123ignition distributor?

Has anyone had any experience of the "123ignition" 356 distributor?
seems like a fair deal at around £200 - before I take the plunge I wondered if anyone had used one on their own car?
also the model shown is same as the VW one - is this just a fancy 009?

Tony,
personaly I had nor experience wiht 123 ignition but in our 356club magazin is an article. They tested it and the result is more then positiv.
It is not a fancy009, with this ignitior you could choose the right curve for your engine. The early 356 until 58/59 has a little different curve to the late 356/912 engine. Check out witch your engine should have and check out on the webside from 123ignition.
The bad one and a few won´t do, it is not original.

Fitted it and it has smoothed things out beautifully, with no missing on idle and a nice smooth power band through the revs.
Its also a very nicely made bit of kit with very clear instructions. Well worth the money.

Can't remember the name off the top of my head, but i just looked up the UK dist for MG's or something, rang them and they were getting some into stock! Simple to fit and it really has made a huge difference

would be interested in a longer term results on this..... I fitted my RSR 0012 disy and it was good for sure but still not as smooth as your saying it did have the hick ups every now and then but not as much.
My Dad had alot to do with disy's inthe past with Lucas and he has shown me a few things.. and I did start to talk to an MG guy who knows some one who remakes disy's and has the machine to test them to make sure the springs and bob weights ( the right ones ) are doing their job right and the correct curve is found..
It's basicly what is being done with the 009's in the US to make RSR0012's
it's not rocket science but needs the time the tools and the correct parts to do it. My Dad said about some of the Developement Jags had to have Disy's rebuilt to suit the test engines and that's all they did..till Jag where happy..
