79SC backdate - the real work begins...

Okay... here goes. Well, I've been watching with huge interest and making the odd post on DDK since I bought some early front wings from Andy (Lightweight 911) back in the summer of 06. About a year earlier, after much searching, I had aquired this:
A 1979SC Sport with 79K and very very tidy. I've got a lever arch file full of history right back to the original purchase invoice at Malaya Billingshurst. Spec includes factory short-shift kit, SSIs, Hayward and Scott 2 in 1 out (very noisy!), and its got the K-Star 7th injector thingy on it which I've never really understood. All I know is that it works! I've got two different dyno sheets showing 228 and 231bhp respectively... not bad for a 3.0 on CIS. So all in all I was very happy with my purchase, and as was always my intention, it has been on the road almost every day since, now showing a little over 101K on the clock. It hasn't let me down once.
However, I've never been an impact bumper fan at heart, and right from the start of my ownership I started collecting the necessary parts and reading up on the art of the backdate
I've got a bit of time on my hands right now, so I decided its time for the work to begin... and begin it has! After a couple of solid days work, I now have this:
I've decided that as I'm going this far, I'm going to go the whole way and have the shell blasted and the car repainted, either in original GP white or, I have a dangerous hankering for Seafoam green - opinions please!
Over the coming months, all being well, it will become either a white (or a green ), very light, very noisy R-Gruppe style hotrod masquerading as a 70ish 911S. Lightweight carpet, grp bonnet and front valance, bare sills, 7+9s (got those ages ago! Biagio), as we all know the list goes on and on... and on... and on a bit more

So far I have got the front wings, rear quarters and center panel (I'm going all-steel at the back as I like the chrome overrider look), alloy lid grill and various other bit and pieces. I will be getting the window frames and door handles bright anodised.
I took the car over to Early 911 last week for Nick Moss to have a look and book the car in for shell restoration/paint, here it is on my friend's transporter:
He confirmed my hopes and said it was a particularly good shell for its age, better than many cars a decade younger apparently chuffed. That work should begin in early May, so until then I will be getting the shell blasted and restoring the fuel tank, oil tank and lines, pedal cluster and just about anything/everything else I can think of! That and collecting parts ready for the reassembly.
Hopefully by June/July I'll be able show you pics of the finished product and join up for a blast with some of you DDKers! There's a long way to go yet though.... deep breath.
