Removing dashtop advice required.

My winter list of jobs to do seems to keep growing all the time, but I'm hoping this is an easy one. I can hear the rattle of a nut, bolt or screw somewhere in or around the central speaker grill - it could even be the speaker itself has come loose over the years and is causing the rattle. I'd like to take the dash top off and take a look at what's causing it. I might even replace the old centre speaker with something modern while I'm at it.
Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of? the dash is not cracked and I'd like to keep it that way, so excessive force will be avoided. But has anyone got any tips for easy removal?
Thanks,
David. ('67 LHD Coupé)
