DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Not an easy decision to sell this baby - I've struggled with it for months.

Dad built this car for himself; his way, how he wanted it. It is truly unique; has its quirks (of course) which make it all the more fun to drive. It's the finding time to drive her that has become a very big problem for me...so after much procrastinating the ol' girl is definitely in need of a new home.

We are looking to move business premises soon (definately moving; just looking for the "right" place) - we need to simplify and de-clutter; horror of horrors this little car is just part of that "clutter'.

I know that "everyone" reads this board - so guys please help me find a new home for this car...she desperately needs to be loved and driven - HARD and OFTEN ... by someone other than me .

Given our pending "Spyder move" the car needs a new home rather quickly and I am happy to entertain serious offers from anywhere round the globe. The base car is a genuine RHD Aussie delivery T5 coupe; same chassis the Abarth GTL was built upon.

Well I've found our new "Spyder" home and the little car is stuck in the middle of the chaos as we prepare to move premises.

so how difficult would it be to import into the UK ?

I had the Pleasure of meeting Greg while I was in Melbourne in 2005. I also saw this car in Como PArk and have to say its a really nice car.

I actually met quite a few Porsche club members in the como Park event and also Marc Banks who also had a few killer rides in his garage.

Still need to get another 356 one day. Hopefully soon.

First...to Paul,

Mate you wouldn't recognise Beach Rd these days. The Beauie Pub is now the Beaumaris Pavillion and there was talk of it closing and being converted to glitzy apartments. I don't think the little VW place in Mordialloc is even still going . It's a changed world down that way now - very, very pricey and not as "free and easy". Still gorgeous though.

Don't think I met you at the Parade in 2005 - mind you I was a bit busy with a merchant marquee all day. I really didn't get out of the tent to see anybody as we were too busy. But yes, I did have the car there. If it is still in my hands come this year's event I'll try to get it there again. But we are doing a merchant thing again and I may need to take the van full of stuff instead.

I don't think it would be too difficult to import but I really don't know the issues (if any) on the UK end. I have some good contacts to assist with the exportation side of things over here at least.

this is probably one of the hardest things I have had to do - a small part of me (the heart) is saying don't sell; but the more sensible part (the head) needs to rule. I just hope I can find her a great home . That would make me happiest.

I'm trying to get an idea of what this car's worth would be in the UK...I understand the sentimental value it must have for you and your late dad, your email was very moving.

Certainly interested just struggling to get a grip on value and what I would do with it.

Ticks all my boxes though...old porker with poke and sporty looks. Yum.

Well as you now know it was built by a man who spent his life with and around Porsches. You did ask for background and I am not so good with condensing so many years into a few words .

Dad owned his first in 1958 and was authorised as a Porsche service agent directly from Porsche AG in the early 60s. It's hard to quantify the monetary value of such a unique motor car built by such a man. For me, the comparison is art (or jewelry) - one person may think nothing of a certain artistic piece and therefore place no monetary value upon it whilst another may see what the artist saw and therefore value the piece highly in monetary terms.

You've made me giggle anyway - glad the ol' gal ticks all your boxes and you think she's yummy too .
