Throttle slider wear...

Heres one to look out for....

This came off of Martin's Crystal Blue 912 yesterday. The throttle linkage had been incorrectly adjusted, which combined with a lack of lube & 40 years of use, caused the end of the slider to wear paper thin.

With a very light tweak, it snapped. A definite show stopper! (Now replaced and correctly adjusted)

I've seen similar wear before, but never to this extent. Might be worth checking yours

Ouch! Thanks for sorting that Max - I suspect that there a lot of things incorrectly set up on my car (least of all the clutch cable seeing as I'm the one that keeps having to wind it up to get it into gear!). At least it's in the hands of an expert now though, eh?!
