to outlaw or not to outlaw

whats the definition of outlaw 356 ?
is just changing colour to non-standard and ditching the bumpers anough ?
or does it need a bigger engine, bling wheels, fat boy wheel arches
i need suggestion,examples, photos, advice. and is there any renoun experts on doing this? or anyone who usually does restoration who fancies the challenge ?

There are no strict laws Helen, it refers to the act of customising something that perhaps should have been left standard - therefore making you and it an Outlaw!
Most 'Outlaws' tend to have a few body mods, stripping of parts, lowering os suspension etc. but no real rules.
Many 356 race cars are labelled as Outlaws
e.g.
There's extreme Outlaws - e.g. The Emory cars
slightly more subtle with trim removed, lowered, wheels etc.

As Bootsy says - there are no hard & fast rules but 'Oulaw' cars often include :
Removal of external trim/badges
Period race decals
Lowered suspension
Detrimmed (or removal of) bumpers
Custom paint
Uprated/detailed engines
Lightweight race-inspired interiors
etc
The idea is to create something individual (within certain unspecified guidelines)...

not the one i'm just finishing but my next project. i have a few ideas but i need someone who has the skills/knowhow to put my ideas into practice.
i am a very happy /easy to work for customer (ask Lee who did my last project) who pays on time.
i have seen some VW beetles which have been done along the lines i'm thinking but not a 356. (Freds going to love me even more than he does now
)
i'm think more bling(but not too much) and maybe a bigger engine, but i'm think comfort rather than race spec. so not too over the top.

You'll need one hell of a skilled metalworker to take a 356/911 and make it look like this!
Or am I missing the point?

i don't like the flashes down the side/bonnet bu i love the matalic paint & all the chrome.
