DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Greetings all,
I originally registered with the forum during December, 2005, and I remember providing a bit of info regarding myself. Soon afterwards there seemed to be a bit of a blip and I could no longer access the forum (I'm no computer whizz-kid!), and I lost interest and gave up. However, a week or so ago, I decided to try to look you up again, and Lo! I managed to get access after going through the procedure to find out the name which I used to register originally, and then giving myself a new password. So far, so good! As such a long time as elapsed since my first couple of postings, I decided to start again as a new member.
I remember mentioning that my 1969 911T was still in Zimbabwe. Well, things have advanced since then, and I managed to get the car out of Zim, (at great cost and loss of life!) and is now in Birkenhead, being brought back to life.
It's great to be back!

I am in Denbigh - about 30 miles from Chester?? It's a bit lonely here - I'm not aware of any Early 911 owners in this part of the world.

The car is RHD, having been put into service, new, in the UK during October, 1968. the car "emigrated" to what was then Rhodesia in 1973 - it was taken there by the second owner, and I am the third owner, having bought it in 1975.
Its colour is Tangerine, and it is wearing the same paint that it was wearing when it left Stuttgart.
The cost of getting the car here was substantial - having to be containerised in Harare, transported by road to Durban, by sea to London, and by road again to Portsmouth, where it was cleared by customs.
Loss of life? Call that poetic licence - my way of describing the nail-biting, the frustration, the back-handers that I had to pay to get things done. (Nothing gets done quickly in Africa)
