Hi,
I had problems with the passenger electric window on a 72 911.
I have fitted a replacement window switch but it is post 74 switch and doesn't match the rectangle chrome switches on the drivers side.
Any leads where I can get one or does someone have a switch.
Thanks
Des

Des,
You can get them from Porsche. Try your OPC.
Mind you the later switches are pretty cheap (£20? or less) but won't work and, as you say, look different.
The '72/73 switch was unique to those years and more expensive. I don't recal what I paid but I think it was something crazy like £45.
Can you restore the old one? I had two faulty switches, one I repaired, one just couldn't be fixed (it had melted inside). If you can get in it and it's just dirty contacts you may be able to get it alive. I think I may have my dead switch in case you need any bits from it.

Hi Paul,
It melted in a puff of smoke, so beyond repair.
The OPC have only come up with the later type switch, so at least I was able to close the windows....why do they break when both windows are open...?
I've emailed Roger Bray parts to see if they have any.

The black switch/arm on pre 72 cars is smaller. I have a box of spares but will not be able to check until next week. If you get stuck mail me then and I will take a look.
