VW Action - at Santa Pod 31st August-2nd Sept

Post by Bootsy »

This is going to be a historical event - I want to put on a really good classic Porsche line up to spread the word!

31st August to 2nd September 2007 will be perhaps the most unmissable VW Action event of all time.

For the first time ever, VW Action is taking place at Santa Pod Raceway. It is 20 years on from the first new wave events, from the formation of the VWDRC, and from the launch of Volksworld Magazine.

We intend the show to be a celebration of these anniversaries, as well as a celebration of the best of the last 20 years of VW shows.

I'm sending a mass email out in the next few days - but, in the meantime - who's up for it?

I AM!

The 914 group is currently in the middle of organising another event for this very same weekend! I must admit I do fancy this, should be a great event.

Just heard from the organiser, providing we get a good line up of cars DDK will get our own (quiet) camping plot (near backstage) and our cars will be 'Displayed' near the Main Marquue each day.

VIP treatment - so who's coming?

Or make this part of it?

914's have always been part of the VW scene.

So we have:

One of my cars
Porker 914
Jimbow

Anymore for anymore?

Anyone who has been involved in the VW Scene since the late 80s should come along for this to celebrate 20 years.

There's going to be some amazing Drag Racing going on including guest cars from Europe including

This video shows another guest car that makes the 993 it's racing look slow!

http://ottobros.skynetblogs.be/post...g-bug-vs-porche

and to quote Brett (founder of the first Bug Jam)

"The track will be quality... with fuel cars testing for the Euro Finals, it has to be. The best weekend/best place for any VW race car from UK or Europe (and we have a bunch from both) to put the numbers down this year I reckon."

8) I haven't seen the book yet.......... I must get a copy!

I am amazed how much interest there now is in the early years of the "new wave" VW scene. I really can't believe it was 20 years ago.........

I remember the first bugjam and slthough i did not go to the first vw action i used to do for many years with a bunch of mates when it was held at stoneleigh.

Cant wait to go for the weekend this year so anyone who has been interested and is still interested should go along.

I can remember the first beetle to wheelie in this country "mr Beetle" which was in its day a pure race car, they have moved on a hell of a lot since then and its hard to find s street car that cannot lift its front wheels not mention a few campers that can also!!!!
