After stripping down my front and cleaning all the parts I have come to the conclusion that my original track rod ends are all in a good useable condition apart from the rubber sleve/grease cap. This seems to be unlike modern track rod ends were the rubber is wired on to the track rod permanently to hold in greese that is put in at the factory. This is more like a conical shape rubber washer that just fits over the top. I guess this is so greese can escape if you over greese them at the nipple. Does anyone know if you can get these anywhere, or has anyone used anything else that does the job. all the parts vendors only seem to list the whole track rod end
cheers jason

Thats a relief that they are available. I thought I was going to have to replace all 4 track rod ends just because the rubbers were perished. Rebuilding the front end seems a long way off at the moment so its far from urgent that I get these. Having said that Julian if you do remember could you bring some along to heddingham and I will have them off you. Dan I will give you a call on the day and maybe we can hook up. cheers jason
