I need to think about replacing my clutch -

It was a bit hard getting into 1st and generally a little pain in traffic.
I have adjusted it up which has made it a lot easier but now there is v little free play which is not good.

i have read the older posts on the subject. Does anyone have any updated info.

Where is the cheapest place to buy from?

What do you think of this?

Since it sounds like your clutch has been in there a long time, I'd definitely replace the whole thing, not just the friction plate.

One of the cheaper options for a genuine OEM replacement may be Stoddards in the states, wth the $$ exchange rate as it now is.

Alternatively, try type911 or mittlemotor

Oh the clutch... yes.....how i laughed when i called strasse in leeds for a qoute on replacing said item.

"Certainly sir......that will be about one thousand pounds.... "

(oh and dont forget the vat)

I'm taking the car round at lunchtime today ...... so i can drop my pants and bend over it ... so they can shaft me properly!

Guess i'll be buying one from the states and learning how to pull my engine then!

Until then i'll learn to change gear with what i've got

Is it me or does it sound better if you say it quickly.......athousandpounds

Bring it down here Darran - We can pretty much do it while you wait. It will be a long, long way from £1,000!

I don't think that's excessive - have you weighed a (cast iron) pressure plate ?

That's a fair point really Andy.

But it still sounds like a shedload of cash whichever way you slice it.

Waiting for type911 to come back to me with a price
