DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

I find myself with a number of 'ipoints' (online reward points), and I am considering redeeming some on a 914 book or two.

I should state I'm interested in 914s, rather than Porsche per se, and the only books I've got at home are the Haynes and the Dellorto Carb book. My worry with any book is that it's not going to be as useful as knowing where to find DDK-online.

So are any of these available ones worthwhile (ie do they cover things in more detail or more reliably than I can find for free on t'interweb), or would I be better getting DVD vouchers?

Or is there a definitive published book that I should try to track down, that isn't mentioned here? Failing that, a manual specific to building / maintaining type 4 engines might be useful, if such a thing exists.

Brett Johnson's book is v good - I just wish for a few $$ more they had produced it all in colour.

I bought every book on Amazon with 914 in the title and was sorely disapointed They were all good enough but the interweb had already told me everything of significance contained within. That was just me though - you may think differently.

Nope - that's my worry entirely!

But I feel that I need at least one 914 book on the shelf to show dedication

And it's much easier to take a book into the littlest reading-room than a laptop.

I like '914 caught on camera'. Not a science book full of weights measures and dimensions, but has some really nice pics.
ebay is the only place I can find it now but I got mine through PCGB

I bought the above caught on camera book for 1.99 about 12 years ago in a cheap "fill the shelves with rubbish books and flog em cheap" book shop...!

Thats what got me started on my quest...

The "How to Restore and Modify" book is good, but for the amateur I think. Most articles, brake upgrades etc are covered from what I have seen, here on the forums.
