Hi, I've been lurking on here for ages;
It's about time i introduced myself and posted something ! :lol:

I got myself a '74 911 November last year (it was for sale on the forum - Kaferboy) It's a Californian import -imported by Steve Walker about 18 months ago .The previous owner had dabbled with a few bits but never really did much. The little bit of welding that was required is now finished (battery tray) I've now bare-metaled the whole body shell
+ now priming and rubbing down. The car will be resprayed with it's original Mexico Blue.

For all you folks who used to be into the VW scene years ago:
I used to race in the VWDRC from '88 to '93 with my car Betelgeuse (best quarter mile time 11.24 at 118mph)

HI there from Norwich and welcome.

I remember your VWDRC very well together with your epic battles with Gary Angel - great times and good to see your VW is still out there racing.

I hope you find the forum useful and fun!

Welcome Jimbow. I've always said Narfuk is god's county, no matter what the Yarksheer people say :lol: .

I remember Betelgeuse well. Many happy days sat in the stands at Avon Park or on the grass at the Pod watching & wishing.

Look forward to seeing you at one of the meets.

Hi Jim,

Just a quickie - I never gave you the oil pressure guage that matches the engine - the on you have is a 2.7 and it'll go nuts when you kick in the 3.0!

I've lost your address unfortunately - you want to pm me? Or will you be attending any VW shows anytime soon and we can meet up?

Fancy emailing me some pics of how its coming on? Loved that car! I WILL have another one, oh yes!

THe bodyshell is now painted (no wings-doors-bonnet-bootlid yet though..)

Remember it well, I was at Bug Jam in '92 (I think, I was very drunk) and came up against your car in a 'run what you brung' session, needless to say I felt like I had engaged reverse when left the lights 8)

Nice 911, I'm sure Glenn75S will like this one too, as a fellow early big bumper man 8)

In case you haven't seen it yet, Betelgeuse is back in print! In this month's Volksworld, BB has a picture of it in his 'back in the day' column.
