removing the speedo

can anyone tell me how to remove the speedo trip reset shaft from under the dash...I can't figure out how to release it so I can remove the speedo :oops:

Ben, I can't remove mine, but it is a cable rather than a shaft. If you take off the steering wheel you should be able to pull the speedo towards you and the reset cable + speedo cable will pull off.

Quite right.

The end that's attached to the dash uses a slim nut with a screw-driver recess in it, that will be seized to the point of bonding atomically to the dash, if yours is anything like mine.

I used release fluid and patience to remove mine.
