Ooops!
Repeat after me...
I mustn't beat the synchro
I mustn't travel sideways whilst negotiating local roundabouts
I mustn't butcher another rare gearbox for it's innards
I mustn't forget that's she's a 50yr old coffin-dodger...
but where's the fun in that

No point in them being garage queens
Use 'em, break 'em, fix 'em
Repeat until bored or financially ruined...

Upon further inspection Holmes discovered that they couldn't blame the missing shifts on the evil Moriarty... theres just no feckin' teeth left
'I smell quite fresh today Holmes - almost zesty one might say'
'Hold tight there old boy... it's a lemon entry my dear Watson... '

We'll be ok as we've got 741 and 716 later spare boxes here to make a good one using the original 644 case but with a full complement of synchros... now just need new clutch plate and release bearing, shaft gasket kits and various sheared bolts... got a bargain replacement front mount from Alex at retro yesterday - he's a good boy
So all being well (and a quick carb balance) we should be back monstering the Fens after lunch on sunday. Big thanks to sibling C Minor and his amazing box of grubby spanners and ratchetty thingies.
Peep, peep!

Sibling C Minor's been out fiddling again... rides a treat, looks the dogs and now with silky smooth syncro on all gears - so no more will-it-won't-it when i'm stirring the box searching for 'forward' at junctions. Fresh pair of shiny KK stainless j-pipes as well. Heaven
Just got to fit/mould the GT trims to the bumpers now...

My giddy aunt....that it is an awesome looking car! Awesome!
I'm hoping to buy an 'A' in next couple of weeks (may even secure one tomorrow in fact), and will be looking to do something good to it over next couple of years. May have to mail you in the future to get some pointers - that looks superb....! Will you be at Hedingham with that?

I'm hoping to get it there but a couple of big projects might scupper that... it's all down to planning with Mrs C
