--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looking to buy original luggage straps, not repros for early 911. A Set is preferred but, I would buy a single if that's all you have. Any condition considered except NOS unless the price is reasonable. I can't believe I just said that. Porsche...reasonable?....

Give me your tired, your broken, your single...or just a really nice set of drivers. My email is michaelfred@sbcglobal.net

Thanks for the tip. I've bookmarked his website. :)

There is only one difference I see right off. I don't believe the originals were vat dyed (which produces the color throughout) so they retained the original natural leather color along the edges and backside.

Anyone else having an old original laying around?

I supplied a luggage strap for Gary to use as a pattern for the repro sets - I think this strap might be an original. It certainly looks like it! Cracked leather etc....Definitely showing its age.

I can send you pictures of it if it helps? If it is original, it was one of a pair that I have so you're in luck 8)

Hi Michael,

My black straps are dyed all the way through, mainly because the leather was easily available! :)

It should also be possible to make a set up using natural backed leather similar to the tan straps on the site.

If you are interested I will find out for you, price should still be the same. :)

I had the tan ones Gary mentioned:

As you can (hopefully) see, these aren't dyed all the way thru....and very quickly after a few days in the sun have started to develop a nice patina 8)
