MFI pumps

Does anybody know any MFI specialists ?
My engine is away being rebuilt by Mike Bainbridge at the
moment and I need to get the pump checked out, really just
to make sure everything is working ok.

Mike tells me that he tested the injectors and they need replacing.
Anybody tried to do that recently? I rang Bosch and they tell me that
there only five injectors in the whole of theUk!!. Quite a lot of people said they
could get them but prices ranged from £77 + vat to £60 + vat each!!
GSF worked out the cheapest.

With regards to getting the pumped checked out that was another nightmare quest.
According to Bosch there is now only one guy, semi-retuired
who knows the old Kugelfischer MFI system. When he goes eventually then only the US
will be able to play with MFI. That is unless anybody else knows different.

I've got a similar dilema and was thinking about packing my pump off to the US - someone recommended me to Tower Diesel in London - never used them myself but I plan on giving them a call :-)

Is your motor really fitted with a Kugelfischer pump? These were only fitted to a small number of race engines as far as I am aware, including the 84 SCRS

The original Bosch pumps are basically diesel pumps, Tower diesels are known as the speciallists in this country but I have a contact in Germany who can carry out this work.
