fuchs wheels where do you paint

could anyone shed any light on the correct way, ie line of black that should be on a 15 inch fuch wheel, as im nearly ready for paint

they are 5.5. cant work out where to mask out though. how far does the blck come over the spoke?

what ever you do don't paint in line with the edge of the petal...because this looks awful. They should look like they were dipped in paint from the back so the paint should follow 'sea level'

thats great thanks for the info, more polishing is neede then , they were previously painted with the spoke. so i guess more elbow grease is needed

This is wrong (its a replica wheel anyhow) and looks rubbish.

what paint do you use?
was thinking of doing the same but for 4 stud 914 fuchs

Just etch prime and use satin black/gloss black depending on your preference.
The curves are quite tricky to mask and I understand electrical insulation tape is what you want as it stretches around corners. Wish I'd known this when I did mine

It might be but I've not used that product before -I used UPOL etch-primer + normal 'car plan' or something gloss black. Lasted 3 yrs so far and looks nice.
Now if you were really cool you'd have the 'anodized look' on the petals like the RGruppe cars

I used Plasti-kote satin black enamel paint spray available from Halfords

Do you have any pics of these anodised look wheels? I know a very good powder coater who does special finishes. (he did all my project motorbikes)

That's the RSR 'frosted' anodising.
