My speedo works but the odeometer and trip meter never moves. I understand that an internal gear may have stripped, but I dont know where to start on getting the right gear for me etc. Can anyone help with a working spare?

Yes I forgot to mention that, my car is a 1974 car, cable driven speedo from a 901 gearbox. I would be happy with any MPH year of speedo that may fit, (ie, I am not worried about 1974 originality)

I have a perfect low mileage (27,623 miles) '74-style speedo (looks almost new).

Hi Lightweight 911, thanks for posting a reply so quick and for including front and rear pictures of your speedo. As it was £75, I thought that I had better take mine out and compare the pictures, as my front dial was different and goes to 180mph.
I took the speedo out and ran a cordless drill in reverse through it and found that the speedo and odeometer in fact do work.
The reason that it was not working in my car, was that my speedp reset cable was jamming it from rotating.
I will get hold of a new reset cable.
Thankyou very much for you kind offer, but I no longer need it now.

If yours looks like the above but has a 180 mph top speed (at the 6 o'clock position) it is from a '74-'76 2.7 Euro Carrera (or possibly an early Turbo).
