If anyone has any scrapped or useless (to them) sections of 914 shell for sale I'd be interested to know. Doesn't matter how bad or how small - anything better than this will be of use :

In fact, some bits of that one would be fine. Mine's as rotten as a pear including in some nla areas such as around the windscreen/scuttle area. If you've got anything which may be of interest please let me know. I can collect.

Cheers.

may still have a front end - you are more than welcome to it but you'll have to pick up from deepest S Wales - will try and find out if it's still at my farthers workshop.

Alternatively, may have located another 4 cylinder 914 - about a mile from my parents house which doesn't appear to have moved for some time - if I end up buying it, there will be a spare rolling shell.

Must stop reading these US sites - currently on 914world.com :

f/s 1972 body/chassis for sale - this is completely stripped except for the suspension -
the longitudinals are very rusted. It does not appear that the car has been hit - asking
$125 for the body or $200 for the body with suspension minus the shocks

Less than £70 !!!!!!!!!

I have a whole bodyshell although it's in a bad way (too much metal was cut out & it's twisted)

. . . not quite ready to part with it yet as I still need to remove the engine, gearbox & other usable parts . . . but if you can wait, I'll give you a shout when I'm sorted

Ben :)

Thanks Helen - when I know what I'm getting from where I'll give you a call.

General question - why is everyone on this site so friendly and helpful ?
Not like the real world at all. :occasion5:

Cheers Ben, PM sent. I daren't look too closely 'cos what you're scrapping looks better than what I'm restoring.

but i guess really its because at sometime most of us have needed help or will need help, so we are delighted to be able to help someone else in return.

it's a bit like that film "play it forward"

PM'd ya back :)

When I bought it as a 'parts car' for my 73, I felt a little guilty not restoring it but the monkey who I bought it from had cut so much metal out, the whole car seems to be twisted... the door jamb on the PAX side has an inch gap and the roof no longer fits :(

I'll give Bewildebeest the first option on bits but if anyone else wants bits, please PM me...

Or, indeed, that film "Pay it Forward"

My universal translator sometimes plays-up too, Helen.
