Hello all

Been meaning to join for a while, living in Yorkshire, hers is the '58 356A, mine's the '71 911E.

We met due to our mutual love of all things pre '74 - needless to say it was an interesting first date, with the usual small talk substituted for Porsche talk and whether the 917 was the greatest thing ever built! She had just come back from a holiday in California, looking in scrap yards for parts - I thought she's probably worth holding on to  and so we are due to be married in March! (no prizes for what the wedding cars will be!)

Hopefully there are pictures attached below :-

Taken at Harewood House
Was her daily driver for the last 4 years until July this year when the tin worm finally took over - now looks a little bit different as its just come back from shot blasting (a little winter project!!) So she's forced to drive a Golf now - and dont I know "its a temporary substitute"!

The 911 is my daily driver, averaging 16,000 miles per year, therefore looking forward to picking up tips about keeping it running and details of any meets / events.
Cheers

James & Tracey

Cool story, and welcome. Wedding car I can match, although my beloved doesn't share my love for old Porsches

Enjoy the forum and look out for upcoming events in your area. Think you'll find the 'scene' alive and kicking in Yorkshire

welcome to more Northerners 8)

We usually have a Northern meet up every month, location changes each time. Shame its winter now as a lot of the early cars are tucked up in their garages to keep away from the salt ( well mine is anyway ;) )

Great to hear your using yours as a daily :)

I have some good DDK meets planned for us northerners in 2007 .

Hi James and Tracy, welcome to DDK.

If you are doing 16000 miles a year in an early 911 we can probably learn something from you!

Welcome Jame and Tracy. I'm sure you will find us a good bunch and as Nick's says we could learn from you on how to keep an old Porsche going, 16000 miles is pretty impressive.

Welcome James and Tracey.
I've always admired the 58A at Harewood House. Maybe I'll have a chance in the concours this year!
