Wanted - 911e 2.4 Fuel Injected

Post by ChrisC »

I am looking for a well restored 911e RHD UK car. The condition must be A1 as I simply do not have enough spare time to restore a vehicle as I have two young kids and another on the way, panic!!!

I am a classic car nut so the car will be kept in very good order and garaged etc.

I am waiting with the cash.

Have I seen this one

Yes I will be seeing it hopefully within the next two weeks as the owner is moving it to within a stones throw of my home. Many thanks for pointing this out to me.

In case you search here on DDK there was also another RHD 2.4E advertised recently.

Here

I viewed this car last weekend for a fellow DDK'er and it has since sold.

Are you after a coupe or targa, or will either do?

I also saw the same car last Saturday morning. Maybe you were the guys I saw when I left at about 1.00 p.m. It was an excellent car in a great colour but it was restored in 2000 and there were signs of this work breaking back through along various seams etc and I found a hole below the front A pillar when I put it up on ramps. In my opinion it needed restripping underneath, some remedial work and reapplication of underseal etc. A bit too much work for me right now. There were also signs of rust at the base of the engine lid which I would not of expected on a car that had supposedly been coseted since the rebuild. The price was around 20K, am I expecting too much at this price level i.e. was this actually good value? If so what should my celing be for a car that does not need bodywork?

Many thanks

Hi Chris

I looked at the car around 2pm so it must have been someone else you saw leaving. It's a small world as I only live 5 miles away from where that car was. The car did indeed need some more time and money spent on it, but it was a very good basis. It has had a lot of money already spent on it, and in all the right places. The engine lid was very bad and needed replacing and it had some old "not so nice MOT welding" on the outer floors but it was matching numbers, RHD, rebuilt box and motor (S spec) Recaro sports, lots of history and so on.

I hope the new owner also joins in here on DDK?

Thanks

I am guessing that you did not advise your guy to buy it then? As it was the first one I have seen I kind of panicked and thought I would purely use it as a benchmark. The last thing I want to do is buy a donkey.

Hi Chris,

Yes I told him to buy it, but whilst sorting a few things out another chap looked at it and bought it there and then. I am told he was 82 years old - very cool.
