Replace or refurbish a brake master cylinder?

Sent all 4 brake calipers from my 1966 912 off to Classicar Automotive and got them back looking like new. Excellent job. Fitted them back on last night and tonight to realise another problem.

The brake master cylinder is no longer working. Any idea where I can get another one from or is there a place that will refurbish this aswell?

Any advice much appreciated.

You can get a new ATE master cylinder from Eurocar Parts for ~£66 + VAT.

It is a simple job to re-build the master cylinder (much easier than doing the calipers) I think a kit costs about £15.00

I'm with Andy - I know someone who rebuilt his master cylinder only to then buy a new one to do the job propoerly.

would now not be the best time to go dual circuit,if not already.bolt on as far as i know.

Brake system is now fully operational. Refurbished calipers all round (lovely job thanks to Classicar Automotive) and replacement master cylinder. I am now ready to roll.

Just to add a little info:

If you go single circuit to dual you will also need the dual brake rod as it is longer and you will also need to install a break pressure switch or use the later pedal assembly.

Also, it's a personal preference but I would never rebuild a master cylinder it really isn’t worth it.

when you say pressure switch do you mean brake bias valve type thing.was planing on going dual on mine so any info very helpful.also by later assembly,post 69 or when .was informed by nice man at roger bray that it was bolt on .
