If its the same engine hes been trying to sell that for over a year I think it was the first time he advertised an RS engine unless this is a diferent one. Surley 8k is a decent price for this sort of engine?

So what is a realistic price for a rebuilt stock RS engine? and what sort of price is a resonable condition used one? Im thinking of ditching the 3.2 to get an RS engine for my RS replica.

Hello, Steve.

A real true blue RS engine has a substantial premium, of course..the post 73 also a premium, but much less.

The actual building plus parts cost of a fully built new RS-spec motor is about 12K, done right with all ancillaries fully refurbed etc..

A bit less from someone like Henry in the USA even after paying carriage.

The value of this engine is gong to be very variable..all depends on who di the build, what bills come with it, and what come-back if on offer..if any..!

8K may be about right or too much FWIW..lots of stuff is on ebay for good reason imho..

Kind regards
david
