Hi all,

I need to change my brake pads but am holding off the EBC Greens and/or reds as I've heard they need some heat in them to get the best out of them so they are not really the best bet for mainly town (london) driving. I've recomended OEM pads as being the best compramise between stoppping ability from cold and longevity.

Any thoughts

I use OEM pads in my 2.4S. My car spends all its time covering Yorkshire Dales roads at high speed with lots & lots of braking. I have yet to have brake fade on the road.

cars used for mainly track use have different requirments

Pagid Blue Brake pads are available at Euro and they are ment to be quite good. Not that expensive either.

My brother put Red Stuff on his car and one thing we noticed right away was the very little amount of brake dust on his wheels. The remaind exceptionally clean for ages.

I am using ATE OE pads on the beast as I thought I was going to change the discs to drilled rotors, but they didn't need doing.
My car comes to a halt very well indeed running on the ATE's. As tested on the Southern blasts, Darren and Alam's blats across london and Le Mans.

Rated AG = All Good.

I've had both pagid and mintex "fast road " pads both are excellnet, no squeeling and work in all conditions

I can confirm that the Beast's brakes are VERY good, just as well the considering how bloomin quick that car is

I have Greenstuff up front and ATE on the rears, never had a problem with the Greenstuff pads, they really don't need that much warming up, just a few dabs, which when in London is barely a few hundred yards down the road

Hi Darren, do you notice much of a boost to braking pperformance with those greens over the standard ATEs? I was wondering whether to go for an upgrade you see!!!

Hard to say over standard pads Keith, at the time of putting them in I gave the system a good bleed and replaced the rears with the ATE's, both sets were well past their sell by date so I experienced a big improvement at first. Had my system been in good shape to start with I woud have been in a better position to comment on actual improvement.

All I can say is they're more than up to the job for the way I drive
