Changing usernames

Hi mr moderator,
Can I change my Username/membership name as I seem to be getting an awful lot of spam from far and wide and this may be partially due to my using my real (full) name in the noble DDK.
regards
Mike

You can do it in your profile but this would not cause spam. The fact that your email address is on display means that it could be picked up by spam bots etc. and this could contribute to it (again you can change this in your profile).
Picking up your username would have no effect at all though.

I can reset your password if you want me to. Email me what you want it to be.

I don't think the robots can pick up info from dynamically produced pages, such as this forum. You have a hotmail address that is bound to attract spam. Isn't there something on the Hotmail server to help?

I now have different emails accounts going though different Hotmails as when you set up the filters right it works well. I did this to try it out as I was getting alot of spam with my work one so I redirected it and filtered it heavyly for a while and now having it back where it started and It has made a big difference onthe amount of spam ( it took 3 months ) but I think once alot of the spamer get rejected alot I think they look for new updated target lists. I do not understand how it all works but I tried this and it seams to have slowed it down

Hi chaps,
I too would like to change my user name, but even going into my profile and typing in my new name and current password nothing seems to change.
Any ideas or am I after the impossible ?

ronwhitbread is an alias that I use. I thought that it was about time that I used my proper name. Ralph being an uncommon name is all thats required. Surname is similar to whitbread. That's where it comes from.
