Guys

The guy installing my rollcage is going to be replacing the damaged front wing and replacing it with a secondhand one. He wants some pointers as to where he needs to cut the old one off, where are the spot welds to drill out?? or is it a case of cutting the old one off?? if so where?? Any pics of previous ones done would be great.

Cheers

Moggy

Hello again, Moggy.

This is not easy..

I would recommend just replacing the damaged sectio if possible.

The other problem is the screen pillar bases, which rust and are hard to get at with the wing on..

Kind regards
david

Thanks for the response David. There's no rust, at least that I can see at the bottom of the screen pillars. The old wing has some crash damage (not rust) which is why it needs replacing. I'll go down to see him tomorrow to tell him just to replace the damaged section. Any tips on where he should cut?

Hello, Moggy.

The distorsion will dtermine this: its really easier to straighten most bent wings than cut and shut..has a decent panel man condemned it?

I'd keep the weld as short as poss..vertically in the arch mayeb..

but try to panel beat it forst..

Kind regards
david
