Heater/blower control

Hi everyone,
The heater control has 4 illumination lights on it (well mine does!) two light the 'up' and 'down' arrows - I guess, but what do the other two square lights do and when are they meant to light up?
Also, does anyone have some spare bulb holders and bulbs that fit into this unit? I only appear to have one and no sign of original wiring for the other lights on this unit.
