What year is your car? The early cars had chromed brass door tops, anodised aluminium from 68 on.

My car is a 65 model, let me guess now, early brass ones are impossible to get? And they would be cheaper if they were made of solid gold? I wish i had brought a 68 car, so much less hassle.

sounds like you have a project going on there... i found the bits for my 1967 912 weren't very difficult to find and weren't any more expensive than bits for the later ones..you just need to shop around. and snap up bits when you see them for example at auto jumbles.
i also found a few bits are very like bits from the later 356...anough to get away with anyway :P
