Rear side windows Seals

Is there a knack of geting new rubbers to fit into the rear (opening)side windows? I've just bought new rubber seals from Roger Bray - these are the ones that seal the widow frame to the car body (not the glass to window frame). Anyway, part of the seal appears to fit into the window frame - how do you get it in? I've tried warming the rubber, lubricating it with wd40 then gradually sliding it in etc. - no luck. Do you have to dismantle the frame to fit it or is there some clever knack?
