ANYONE GIVE ADVICE ON TYPE AND SIZE OF TYRES TO FIT 6" AND 7" X 15 FUCH ALLOYS FOR MY 73 T PROJECT CAR JUST BOUGHT THE 7" RIMS AND WANT TO LOOK AT MORE MODEN TYRES PETER

I have just put some 195/65/15 on 7" rims you can use them on 6" also.
The 7" could have 215/60/15.

thanks richard i was thinking along the lines of 205/60 f 225/55 r depending what is availible thought i would have had more responce from people who have had to experience this problemi will wait and see peter

195/65-15 on 6" is perfectly Ok and a good match to the original 185/70-15

Peter, I'm running 195/65 on 6" all round on my car so unfortunatly can't help you out with a recommendation for 6 + 7's
Are you after 'period' looking tyres or something more modern?
Mick Cliff has just fitted new tyres to his 6+7" rims on RS recreation, I'll try & find out what they are

Actually 7's and 8's on my car.
195/65 tyres on front and 225/60 on back.
195/65 is almost exactly the same as the original 185/70. 225/60 's are a little bigger than original, but fill the arches well
Used to run 205/55 and 225/60 but the ride was
much too hard - and I kept catching the underside on 'sleeping policemen'. Car is lower than standard - can't remember how low but "the man with the stick" might remember!

Oh - Kumho Ecsta KH11. Pretty good all round tyres (no pun intended)and only cost £180 the full set, fitted, balanced, valves etc.
Yorkshiremen just love bargains!

Correction to earlier post - sizes I used to run were 205/55 and 225/

I run 185/70x15 on my front 7 inch wheels
Think your car Mick is about 1 inch lower than standard from memory ( I now need a memory stick as well!) so about 24 inches front and rear possibly. James is lower still espec. at the rear.

cheers lads getting some ideas i want to put wider rears so they dont look as streched as ken said 195/65 f 225 60 r might be option
still keep ideas coming it will be much apreacated (you can tell why im not a computer chatter cos i cannot spell for toffie sorry)

Same here. I got new Pirelli P7s all round and love them.

I'd recommend Good Year Eagle NCT 195/65 and 215/60.
One of the few makes available in the (near) original sizes - to provide the correct profile.
Quiet, comfortable, good grip with predictable handling in both the dry and wet. Better than P6000s

thanks for the effort think 195/65 and 215/60 are the way to go just got to make my tyre chioce ie more period looks and availabillity

Interesting. Sunday's Goodwood run started me thinking about tyres, since we had several months worth of rain in one day...
Something which works well in the wet is definitely on my shopping list. Sounds like the NCT's are worth a look then.
Anyone else have any brand/model suggestions?
