Update***********Found the car for me

Hi (and welcome).

My budget wasn't as high as yours, but I've been where you are, quite recently and found my prize through DDK, so you may well be in the right place.

I have lost count of the people who have seen my car since I bought it and said 'How much?' or words to that effect (meaning, of course, how little!) - when I admit the price I paid (it's a matter of record here on DDK - search my old posts...).

I think you can probably take my car / price as the absolute cheapest you'll find a road-worthy 914 - I certainly haven't seen anything like it since buying mine - but you've got enough money to be choosy, if you can be patient.

The most informative thing I found online was a post on the Pelican forums, of a photographic record of a strip-down to a shell, showing the 'hell-hole' and battery-tray, and the state sills can get into, rust-wise.

How easy is it to import them from the states?

Racecraft, where are you based? I would be availalbe to look at one for/with you if it's in my area.

Im based in Glasgow, but i know i will have to travel to get a good one.

I am always a little nervous about buying dismantled cars.
But at that price it is an interesting option.

I take it engine is a 2.0.? Does it still have fuel injection?
