Hi all,

does any one out there have the following? Is there anyone who started to get the bits together for their 911 engine conversion into a 914 and given up?

Bits I am after -

1) Oil tank
2) any oil lines )note: I am running an external oil cooler)
3) 'quick six engine mount' (fits on the existing 914 front engine mounting bar brackets)
4) 914-6 throttle cable assembly
5) 914-6 engine tin wear
6) Headers
7) exhaust.
8) rev counter from mid 70's 911 (orange needle, but without the small chrome disc in the middle.

Any other bits in your potting shed may be of interest.

I can get most parts from the States, but wanted to see if anyone had these bits before I go down this route..

kind regards
Robster

Hi Rob

I wouldn't worry about getting the rear box from the US - I used a 911 one without any problem

headers came from Patrick motorsport - went for the 1 5/8 inch ones

definitely recommend standard oil tank - that was a big mistake I made with using the aluminium fabricated one that goes up front with the fuel tank.

engine mounting - I bought mine from Barrie Martin - welds a la original /6 - uses standard /6 mounting block - no real problems with this.

Always worth going to Husborne to look...

Are the headers you need 914/6-specific or will 911 headers work ?

If 911 ones are OK, would these be any good ?:

Hi Andy,

many thanks, but the headers for the 914-6 are completely different to a 911 so no use I'm afraid.

depends how good you are at welding - logically can't see a problem with swapping the manifolds around?

have a set of very used /6 headers here Rob - just remembered - may be a start for a pattern?
