Hi all,

Hope your all enjoying the late summer sun, makes me weep to think of all those 'packing thier cars away'...... anyway....fancy some dear

Image

I've noticed that when i'm coming to a halt, just before I stop, the car seems to stop sharply, as if the brakes had been applied, which they hadn't. Also if I'm on a hill, which In my other cars i have to hill start with handbrake etc, i don't need to use the handbrake, the car sits still! Surely some mistake

I'm assuming that it's not a Porsche thing and that something isn't right

any ideas folks

Mike

Hi Mike,

Sounds like some part of the brake may be binding. Take it for a drive and then touch (carefully) each wheel to see if they are hot. Or go for a drive and then jack up the car and try spinning each wheel. Sticking brakes are normally stuck pistons, which can happen when brake pads ware down, or the flexi pipes become swollen and do not allow the pressure to reduce after taking your foot off the brake. Also go for a drive first as the problem maybe after the brakes have been applied and some pressure has built up.

Cheers Mike,

Alan
