How much have you guys seen them go for?
I know this is a "how long is a piece of string" question but any help is appreciated

Computer's going wobbly: jus replied to this and it got lost in the system. Oh well, here goes again

.
I reckon £3000 would just about get something on the road, possibly a shade less, but it will need plenty of work.
A 'normal' project: £1000-30000 depending on year, spec, rustiness, completeness and whether it's been registered here or not.
£400-1000 probably would get you a rolling car with an identity but without engine, or a real shed.
Only my limited experience though: anyone else got any thoughts?

Shells go from from a couple of hundred quid to a couple of thou - depends how good they are.
what sort of project are you after?
there is plenty of 914 experience on here....

Something at the very bottom end of the market - I don't need wings, engine or doors, just the base unit really, hopefully without terminal rot although I've owned a lot of VWs so a bit of rust doesn't scare me too much

The one you are bidding on looks perfect for you, then!
Last one I saw go on she-bay looked in similar condition, but had a start-able 2.0L engine in it, and went for about £750
Be sure to offer the parts you don't need back here

I wouldn't pay 750 for it but if it went for a few hundred i'd happily take it home

I'm off this w'end to see a friends uncle that has a 914 up for grabs. All i know is that it's a 73 model rolling on fuchs. Apparently it's been sitting under a tarp in a garage for about 10 years and in a sorry state. I'm only intetested in the rims, the gearbox and some interior/exterior small bits. The rest i will not need. I'll pm you and let you know whats what mate . No promises etc as it may be too far gone.
Cheers Dan
