oil cooler.. get new or used?

The oil leak on the RHS of my engine has turned out to be from the oil cooler. I know this could be pressure tested to confirm the leak, but assuming its definitely failed then is a repair possible, or must it always be replaced? The leak is from somewhere within the internal finning, so I'm guessing it is not easily repairable.....
New ones appear to be over 1000USD

(eg Stoddards, Pelican)... so presumably the way to go is a good used one. Anybody know of a reliable source, or have one lying around?!
Cheers,
G

Likewise - I have a spare one, it has the threaded fitting as opposed to the 'radiator hose' type. Believe it to be in good condition
