Carburettors

I'm getting new pistons and cylinders and the suspected cause is the wrong carbs dumping in too much fuel (probably coupled with heavy footed wife!) and cleaning the oil off the barrels. Thus, I need a new set of carbs.

Has anyone got any Solex or Webers in tip top condition or any advice on where best to go? They seem pretty expensive from the place that's rebuilding the engine, but I need to get something that they're happy to put on the car.

Oh, blaming the wife!
So, she doesn't look on the forum then. :)

I criticised her driving slightly about five years ago and she's only just calmed down - this is the only place I can vent my feelings! In truth, she's probably a better driver than me (this is the only place I can admit that!) - apart from the odd blonde moment which can be quite expensive. I hope she never has one in the Porsche!

Hello, Alex.

I'd say that the best value for money option will be to buy a set of newly built reconditioned (not 'rebuilt') Solexes.

I'd Call Peter Andrews at Transend first..

Kind regards
