Afternon All,

Does anyone have a photo of the front mounted fuel pump installation on a early (or later I guess) injected 911? I understand it's directly behind the tank around by the steering rack somewhere? I've looked on the PET system and you can roughly tell what's going on, but there is nothing like actually seeing it.

I want to replicate this for my injection system as the high pressure pumps evidently prefer to be close to the tank and low down being unable to pull without a decent head behind them. Not six feet away half way up the tank like the standard carb pump is on mine

On my CIS setup, there's just one pump at the back of the car on the nearside, nothing at the front at all....

The pump was located at the front on the 2.2s then moved to the rear for the 2.4s using the same pump. Sorry but no pictures. I mounted the pump in the smugglers box on my 74 Carrera.

I think this shows it clearly. Tank currently removed, as is the fuel pump, but you'll get the gist.

You are right about the pumps, the don't generally suck well. I think the front is the best place to put it. My CIS shell just had the accumulator and filter in the engine bay

Thanks all, the pump I planning to use lives under the tank in it's original home so I think front mounted is the way forward for me. Cheers for the pictures Tim, is that an aluminium front x member I see under there?

I had to put a pump up front on my car, i got all the brackets, nuts/bolts/rubber thingies from Porsche, about £20 delivered if i remember right. I mounted the pump on the underside of the smugglers box, must say it helped having two of us, one to hold the bolt on the inside of the box and one underneath to tighten
I'll try and get some pictures for you if you still need them
