Any one know this? I read somewhere that there weren't as many because they never sold the 68S in the US. Is this true?

Hi John
No US supplied 68s model (due to emission controls)
ROW
1267 s coupes
442 s targas
supplied between Sept 67 and Sept 68 (68 model year). This is rhd and lhd. I don't know what the UK figure on it's own is. Anyone?
Regards
Mike

I'm sure Nick has more up-to-date/accurate figures but my records show 35 RHD coupes & 2 RHD Targas were imported by AFN in '68.

2 RHD targa's? I understood that RHD targa's were only officially offered in RHD from model August 1972 onwards?

You could have a Targa before that, but that would be a LHD?

Can anyone confirm?

Best regards.

Thanks everyone.

So, if all of them still exist, which I doubt, I have 1 of 1267.

I presume the 67S was available in the US, does anyone have the production number for those? Would be good to compare the two.

I have a 1966 built (67 reg) 911 2.0 Lux 5 speed coupe, it now looks like a 2.7RS rep, it's RHD fron new and UK supplied from new, how rare is it ?

What the figures I have actually state are the number of cars imported by AFN so I imagine those 2 Targas brought in in '68 must have been LHD.

For the '67 S the numbers produced were:

Coupe - 3433
Targa - 718

& from my figures there were 32 RHD coupes imported by AFN.

Again I think Nick has more recent figures.

Peter - I have a figure of 40 RHD non-S 911's imported by AFN for the '67 model year but probably less than 1/4 of those remaining.

Oh, thanks Peter. Your 1 of 10 sort of takes the shine off my 1 of 1267.

I understand from Josh Sadler that AFN imported three 'S's in 1966 (September / October) - LYV 9D, LYV 10D and LYV 11D - only LYV 10D is known to have survived and is sitting in a warm and dry garage in North Yorkshire

Nope - there were a tiny number of RHD zip window - some went to South Africa - I missed out on buying one about five years ago - but it was a complete basket case.

Never seen one in the flesh mind :-)

Until it's taken out for a jolly good spank & then is cold and wet in North Yorkshire, even in August
