I'm going to "the Ring" the weekend of September 18th -20th, wondered if anyone esle would be interested. I'm going with a group of colleagues, they're driving scoobies/RX-7's etc.

I've kept this in the members section for now as I can't organise a massive event, jsut trying to gauge interest.

I think the indicative pricing is around 400-500gbp including ferry, laps, accomodation, fuel, food, beer etc

I will be back from Iraq (should be) and picking up my car just north of there with all the tweeks done, would be great to get back in my car and on the ring again. Keep me in the loop on this, I would love to meet you all there.

Your Inbound Route: DUNKIRK TO DOVER
Date: 20/09/04

It's costing me £109.00 through www.ferrysavers.com

I'm sorting out accomodation atm. If anyone is interested please let me know.

Luke , I might well be over there , with a mate in an old beemer , around that time in September , I'll try and rig it so we can meet up. What are you taking round the 'ring ? I'll be taking the 2.4S.

Incidently , If you haven't driven round the original circuit on your PC using Grand Prix Legends , you've not lived ( you'll need to borrow some proper pedals and a wheel - you steer with the throttle in this simulation )
GPL came out in 1998 when no home computer could run it ; it now has cult status among those in the know. Nothing since has come close.

Great for gaining the Knowledge and getting your Ringmeister Status.
I still get "Ring Fatigue" somewhere round the Wipperman / Brunchen.

All the best

also PG2 (Project Gotham 2) has the ring, pretty good sim and it has the 73 RS to play with! I know that last year when I went to the ring I had never seen anything like it, I did 4 laps and was never able to remember much from one to another. I have done many laps on PG2 and feel I know the track a little better, but not good enough as the real deal is the only way to learn.

See you all in Sep!

I am back in Germany but will not be able to make it up until the 19th/20th since my wife will be out of town and I will be tending to the children. BTW the use of in-car camera/video is no longer allowed on the ring.

why no more video camera's allowed?

Too many 'hero's' making their own films?
